The Nicest Place in Japan
Kamoi is the name of the suburb of Yokohama we live in. It’s halfway between Yokohama and Machida city, southwest of Tokyo. It’s convenient, but at the same time is more peaceful than some of the other suburbs in the area.
A small river, the Tsurumi River, flows alongside the railway tracks, and on both sides are bike tracks. It’s an easy 10 minute ride to Nakayama. There are heaps of little market gardens by the river, too. So, it’s a little bit country, a little bit city.
We can walk 15 minutes to the top of Hakusan (“White Hill” in Japanese), and see for miles!

Local ramen shop owners
Our favourite food in Japan is ramen, and this is the local ramen shop. The guys always give us a wave when we walk past, which is nice. Their miso ramen is fantastic.
